I live in a beautiful mountain valley in Morgan, Utah and one early morning (I am usually up while it is still dark) I looked up from what I was reading at my kitchen table and was amazed at the brilliance of color in the morning sky. Acting more rationally than normal that early in the morning, I grabbed my iPad and took this picture from my deck. Then stood and watched it slowly disappear from view. Thinking of what a great way to start the day this experience had been, I was reminded of a paper written by a little elementary boy who said, “I didn’t think orange and purple went together until I saw God’s painting of a sunset.”
So many times, we miss the beauty of the world God created for us. My feelings are that we need to follow the example of that little boy and notice the Lord’s handiwork in the beauty He provides for us every day.
As you can see, His sunrises aren’t so bad either, and if you get up early enough, you can see things like this – Will you join me?
